Humanity is short sighted.

We live the moment, thinking it will last forever.

And the world is changing, often faster than we think. Consider the facts:

How would people have reacted in the 1800’s if you told them that millions of people will ‘travel by flying’ in 2000.

How would people in Roman Empire have reacted if you told them that news will travel to every nation, every person, the second it happened.

The telephone needed 100 years (or so) to reach global adoption. The internet took just 10.

The human DNA was mapped much earlier than anticipated.

The cost of 1 MB of disk storage was 10,000 US$ in 1956. Today it is 0.1 Cent (one tenth of a cent)

Today, our whole energy system (for transport, heating, cooling, manufacturing, building) is dependent on oil. Oil will run out. It is amazing that the human race has build all it’s energy infrastructure based on a substance that will, eventually, run out (although some predictions say that there is still plenty of oil in the earth to last for a long time).

The price of oil has been rising. Arab Gulf economies never had so much cash.

But what if oil-based energy technology becomes totally obsolete BEFORE oil runs out? And what if this ‘before’ is 2007?

You might consider this as unlikely. But let’s, just for the sake of mental exercise, assume that the group of engineers at the Irish company Steorn, really do have a technology that produces energy from the interaction of magnetic fields. Imagine if the 12 scientists that have been appointed as a jury come out in a few months and say: the claimed technology really works.

Imagine that on the same day, a leading mobile company, say, Nokia, come out with a phone that never needs recharging and that Toyota announce that the Prius 2.0 will come out in 2009 with a magnetic motor that never needs refueling or recharging.

What if, indeed, we will will witness a huge shift in energy technology in the coming year.

What will be the future of Arab oil? And what will be the future of Arab economies and societies?

Of course, oil will still be in big demand. The world will not switch to ‘free energy’ overnight. I will still have to fill up the tank of my car and buy diesel to heat the house. In fact, some economists say that such a transition will take decades.

But still, imagine if a Chinese company obtains a license from Steorn and starts producing home electricity generators.

Remember the facts above. The rate of transformation of everything is accelerating.

The current oil boom was seen by many in the Arab world as the last chance to build sustainable economies, to survive in the post-oil era. What if prices of oil start dropping rapidly.

I am not an economist. I am also not a physicist or engineer. But the prospects of free energy just blow my mind.

The apparent sincerity, openness and confidence the Steorn company has been showing is just mind boggling. There are people out there who fanatically believe the claim and, furthermore, believe that when the claim is validated a big hole will be blown into our understanding of physics and universe. Other revolutionary discoveries might follow from that.

I am keeping an open mind on this, but still wonder of the potential effects of free energy on the Arab region.

Well even if Steorn claims were true, oil is still largerly used in many petrochemical industries, that’s ranging from heavy industries to food and medicine. Anyways, it will take at least another 25 years to make the transmission from oil-engines to this technology, it wouldn’t be easy to simply adopt most mechanical machines to have this technology as the energy source, it needs a new breed of Mechanical designing and science.

On the other hand, if this was true and turns out it’s easy to transform the energy generated from one form to another it has many implications, basically politics ones. This people at Steorn will simply own the entire world, they’ll make Bill Gates so poor, new parts of the world will be inhabited, the space program will expand drastically, enough food for all people, the possibilities are infinite, of course it’s up to politicians to make the world a better place, like why do you think the electric car is not on the streets?

The thing is, other countries don’t have oil, and look at them :-) , it’s the people not what you have.

That’s transition not transmission! Habby morning still sleeBBy

Basically political ones, ok you spot the mistakes and get 1L of oil for FREE (That’ s a lot of money)

Will be the greatest thing to happen to the Arab world, ever. Oil is a giant curse on the Arab people. Never having to develop in an organic way, oil gives our leaders a means to control and gives outsiders a need to control. Both bring about war and misery. I can’t wait for the day the oil runs out, I just hope I will be alive to see it.

    This is amazing.
A whole web site , dedicated to the fantasy of free energy.
Prattling on like children over nothing.
    Nothing?
    where is your science.
repeatable science , open to peer review by ALL other scientists not on your pay roll ( or subsidy).

    Propetual motion is for idiots.
an open mind is a garbage can ( and a waste of real talent).

    True Free engergy.
Spindle top Texas, oil comes out of the ground under natural pressure and boiling like a champagne bottle freshly open.
instead of CO2 you get free natural gas as a by product.
They spent $1 and got $100 in free energy for the ages past.
When it gone, not only will the world blink , it will be BAD TIMES.

When say gone ( it will dribble forth for 100 years more ) but the flows will never meet world demand.
Its all about the Flows !
For many decades we have been using free energy 4 times faster than we are using it. ( based on FLOWs , NOT RESERVES).

If you had any guts at all you should name your process something unique like “mag-valance” ,but surely avoid the Fusion word.

If someone has “magical” an idea, you should ask for proof!
As they say , proof is in the pudding!

True free energy has over populated the earth.
I think only God can save us now.

    good day and good wishes.

i came in to leave one comment, already found two agreeing with me, i too, think it would be the greatest thing that would happen to arab lands, remember that the arab islamic empire survived a 1000 years or so, solely on camels (symbolic)! i think oil was the biggest curse to Arab lands, it made us a target!

Free energy…… well it’s already here…. you can change a normal car into a water powered just by changing some parts… fx. The sparkplug that’s splits H2O into HHO by demand(2 Hydrogen and 1 oxygen molecule) patented by Steve Meyers. Also check out Daniel Dingel.. Give mother Earth a chance. Somehow it had never reach out… I thing i know why. Some might lose their income and the huge gap between rich and poor will not be as tall as it is today. You can compare it to when the car was invented around 1900…. the horse business were almost eliminated and they thought they was out of business… But they became Mechanics instead.

I really like this idea and think the world depends on oil too much and we need to change our ways of thinking ASAP!
